State Secretary Judith Tielen visits Gelre Hospitals

Gelre Heleen Eising

On Wednesday, 3 December 2025, Gelre Hospitals welcomed State Secretary Judith Tielen for a working visit focused on women-specific health. Attention to this topic is crucial, as many women experience issues such as anemia, menstrual pain, abdominal pain, or menopausal symptoms.

Through the Junction Care Foundation, we are committed to raising awareness of women-specific health concerns and breaking down the social taboos surrounding them. We do this by combining experiences and stories from healthcare with dedicated art projects and scientific research. In this way, we aim to emphasize the importance of continued attention and attentive listening in healthcare — which requires time and calm consultation spaces in everyday practice.

What gave us hope during this visit was the shared understanding that women’s health is not a niche issue, but a fundamental healthcare challenge. Together, we are working toward 2030, when the health gap between men and women has truly narrowed and appropriate care is available to all women and girls.
